View All Results Black and Indigenous Students Award and Mentorship Program At PwC Canada, we’re dedicated to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment that helps Black and Indigenous professionals feel a genuine sense of belonging and realize their full potential. 

Our Black and Indigenous Students Award and Mentorship Program is designed to alleviate financial burdens while providing transformative career experiences. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing diversity and empowerment in the workplace.

What’s included in this program? Award Each recipient will receive a CA$5,000* award, offered alongside a paid employment opportunity at PwC Canada, either through a summer internship or co-op position.

Mentorship Award recipients will be paired with a seasoned professional from PwC Canada, who will provide valuable mentorship and coaching throughout the program.

Career coaching Award recipients will be invited to our quarterly insight sessions, which are designed to help equip them with the knowledge and skills needed for their future careers. 

*The award is subject to required deductions.

Eligibility criteria Awards are open to post-secondary students who: Self-identify as Black and/or Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis)  Are enrolled in post-secondary education at a Canadian accredited institution (full-time or part-time). Are studying accounting and/or business, seeking careers in Assurance or Tax and planning to obtain their Canadian CPA. Are eligible to work in Canada for the intended duration of the offer/contract offered. Will return to school following their internship or co-op to maintain eligibility for the program and award. Application and selection process To apply, candidates must submit an application for any PwC Canada co-op or internship job posting through the online platform in one of Canada’s official languages, French or English. For more details about our employment opportunities, please visit our Careers page.  Candidates must self-identify as Black and/or Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis) in their summer internship or co-op application to be considered for this award.

Successful candidates will be invited to a final interview in-office.

After completing the interview process, candidates will be assessed by PwC Canada’s Award Selection Panel, and recipients will be notified accordingly.

Angela LooAssurance Partner and National Talent Acquisition Leader Terms and Conditions Please carefully review the terms and conditions for the Award and Mentorship Program for Black and Indigenous Students to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the eligibility criteria.

Additional award terms 1. Successful candidates will receive a summer internship or co-op employment agreement setting out the specific terms and conditions of the offer, including one (1) lump-sum payment in the amount of CA$5,000 inclusive of vacation pay, less applicable deductions. The award will be paid at the start of employment. 

2. If you plan to attend a program outside of Canada as part of a year-abroad program after your summer internship or co-op employment with PwC Canada, you are eligible to apply for this award provided you are participating in an exchange program as part of your course curriculum at a recognized publicly funded Canadian post-secondary institution and your degree will be issued from a recognized publicly funded Canadian post-secondary institution.  
 
3. PwC Canada reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, amend or cancel this award at any time without individual notice.  
 
4. By applying, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions and accept that the records of PwC Canada and decisions made by our Award Selection Panel are final and binding.

Independence 5. Potential award recipients (or parents/legal guardians in the case of minors) will be required to sign a Declaration of Compliance, Publicity and Liability Release before the award is granted.  
 
6. Employees and partners of PwC Canada and its subsidiaries and/or restricted clients, and any dependants of any of the foregoing are not eligible for this award. Dependants are defined as individuals whose parent or legal guardian is an employee or partner of PwC Canada or its subsidiaries.

Personal information 7. You certify that all information provided on the award application form and in all accompanying documents is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge. You understand that the provision of false information will render you ineligible for this award program.  
 
8. During your online application, PwC Canada will seek your express consent, as required under Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL), to continue to send you email messages containing information we think you might be interested in, including our thought leadership publications, industry newsletters and invitations to PwC Canada events. 9. During your online award application, PwC Canada requires you to confirm if you consent to having your personal data processed by PwC Canada for the purpose of recruitment for other positions or programs. If you do not provide your consent, your data will be removed from the PwC Canada system following the award review process, in accordance with the legal, audit, and tax requirements of PwC Canada. As a result, you will not be taken into account for any future recruitment processes unless you specifically apply for a position.
